When I started with Colourpuncture I was amazed with the soft power of deep transformation it may bring. At the same time, early in my practice I could also see how some people won’t take these amazing transformative changes/insights/physical improvements any further – whether to maintain or develop on, internally or externally.

I finally realised the need to bring something else into my practice when I had two patients, nearly at the same time who – I was sure of that – were able to convert their deep inner transformational journey with Colourpuncture into ‘real life’ changes: they were both decisive, bold, creative, passionate, energetic and self-aware. One was a true creative (on state benefits) who would effortlessly produce exciting, fresh and practical touches in a wellbeing field and another was a responsible, active, well connected person with a vision of a meaningful service which would truly benefit the community (manager for a government organisation). I mentioned their fairly different life situations in brackets for a reason…

They both came up with absolutely fascinating ideas for a potential business they could create based on their personal experience, passions, abilities – and those business ideas would absolutely have a demand because of their uniqueness, depth and practical usefulness.

Next thing which happened to both was: “OMG, I have this idea, this is so clear – this is what I should be doing!! But….what’s about my safety net/financial security/stability/position in the society etc etc??”. They both realised that they had serious ‘secondary gains’ for keeping the status quo and not implementing their ideas into a real life as a business.

I was puzzled. I thought that this newly-found calling would also provide them with enough trust in the process and impetus for action. However, they both turned out to be risk averse. Eventually, while their business visions didn’t manifest into reality they found the way to still express their talents in different ways, based on their strengths: one by sharing creative photography and another through offering a free support through social connections. They found their version of expression within a select audience – both in local community – which was comfortable for them (I was happy to learn that). At the very same time I also had patients who went for absolutely unconditional transformations in their lives based purely on trust in their unique calling.

I feel I was lucky to have a big and varied practice at the very start and overall, I was very happy with my Colourpuncture clinic. But these two cases stuck in my memory and I started looking for various solutions which would help people to overcome secondary gains and go forward with trust even if outside of their comfort zone when needed.

Dreamwork and intentional dreaming in its simple and creative form was one of these solutions: with dreams our perception is very specific: we see our dreams. Meaning that our motivations, hopes and fears, longings and unfinished businesses are laid bare in our dreams – which make the dreams hard to ignore.

Journaling came into my Colourpuncture practice later (which is ironic as for me personally journaling was my first ever, early in my life reliable self-care) but when I realised that I can use Journaling in my healing practice, everything changed.

Dreamwork in its many forms gives you depth and connects you with collective unconscious and a field of human archetypes; some dreams – and some dreamwork insights – you never forget. Journaling on the other hand, supports the process of clarification and fine tuning our changing perceptions, inklings, felt senses and random associations – bringing it all to the surface level: the level of our consciousness which makes real changes possible.

Speaking of ‘real changes’ I don’t necessarily mean some actions in the external reality – though often some steps are to be taken – sometimes the change needs to be internal (and arguably, this is a more difficult thing to do).

In this video I share my recent personal experience of unexpected and spontaneous deep inner work related to old journals with my Creative Colourpuncture group, on the call focused around different ways to fully ‘take in’ and integrate therapy insights and results.

We talked about Colourpuncture and the best ways to take further the successful healing and positive changes, but this is equally true for any other area in life. Take a moment to reflect: when and what spontaneously and unexpectedly triggered some chain of thoughts or associations – or actions – which prompted deep internal changes in your life? Where did it eventually led you? What was needing to happen there and then, externally or internally? This is a deeper awareness which extends our initial healing taking us beyond what comes up as a direct result of healing or dreams – these are totally new bridges that our mind creates weaving our Colorpuncture insights and daily experiences into an overall tapestry of life.

Any questions, please get in touch using the form below, I’m happy to connect for an informal chat and share my knowledge and experience.
